Why most planning takes way too long (and what you can do about it)
The problem with most planning tools, is they make it just way too complicated.
There are too many steps and too many things for us to remember.
And because of that, we spent a bunch of time planning.
Then when it comes time to actually executing on the plan, we don't do it because it's just too overwhelming.
What I'm going to share with you is a very simple process that I call the ABCD planning process.
And once you see it, you're going to be able to implement it.
It's going to make goal achievement, so much easier.
Okay?
So to walk you through it, I actually wrote down on what the steps are on a whiteboard.
I've named it the ABCD method.
And really, the way that works is very simple.
We begin with "D" which is our destination.
That's where we want to begin. It's where we want to be.
That's the dream that we want to have come true by the end of the year.
Next we look at "A"... which is our starting point... that's where we're "at". This is where you're at today.
So let's say your dream destination is you want to add 40 more clients that gives you a cheque of $10,000 each.
That means you want to generate $400,000 in revenue.
In order to do that , the next step is to figure out how many conversations do you actually need to get those many dream clients.
This is the "C" in ABCD.
And so if you are currently closing, 20% of the conversations into clients, then you need 200 conversations.
Now you're clear on the number of clients you want and the price point you want, and the number of conversations that you need to generate this year, in order to hit this goal...
...Then we get to look at your show up rate.
Your show rate is, how many people that booked an appointment actually show up.
Let's just say you have a 60% show up rate right, which is not high a high at all.
And if you only hit this conservative number, that means you, you're going to get you need 333 people to book a conversation or a phone call.
So out of the 333 bookings.... 60% are going to show, which is going to give you 200 conversations.
All making sense so far?
Once you're clear on your Destination (number of clients and how much each is worth to you)...
How many Conversations you need...
And how many Bookings you need...
... then it doesn't even matter where you're starting at.
Because all that matters is the destination... all that matters is where you're trying to go.
And if you have a good strategy and process to actually get you there... then really it comes down to what are the actions that you need to take to hit those KPIs.
And so when you break these KPIs (key performance indicators) down to the monthly, a weekly basis, then that's going to give you a better idea of what are the actions that you actually need to take right in order to get 40 clients that are at this caliber.
Then it comes down to having a scalable automated marketing system that allows you to generate bookings with potential clients.
And then you also need a second thing, which is a sales process to convert those conversations into clients.
So wherever you're at today, or where ever your business goals are for this year...
If you didn't hit last year's targets...
It's because you haven't put in place a marketing system that generates bookings on your calendar OR you don't have a sales process that can turn conversations into clients.
