You know how there are some things that you just don’t
feel like doing sometimes?
Yet you know it’s important that you do it?
Today’s me and Jenn’s anniversary and we spent the day at a fair with our kids. We left at 8:15 this morning and by the time we got home at 6:30pm, we were all pretty exhausted.
I still had commitments and it would have been easier for me to just say I’ll do it later.
But that’s the thing when you say “I’ll just do it later” to the things that are important to you.
Imagine if you did that often – making a commitment to yourself then not following through.
Imagine if a person you trust said they were going to do something for you, but they flaked out. Not just once, but
many times. What would your trust level be with that person?
Isn’t that what we do to ourselves whenever we make an appointment with ourselves but we don’t actually follow through?
You start to not trust yourself.
If you’re not getting the important things done in your life and business, it’s because you’re only following through when you feel like it.
Making a promise and keeping it isn’t about doing it when you feel like it, it’s about doing it even when you don’t feel like it. Why? Because that’s what it means to be committed.
