When you have a routine that works for you, you simply get more done. You feel like everything is easier, and you feel like time just flies.
This morning I woke up, had a shower, went downstairs to make breakfast for my family (scrambled eggs) and then me and 2 of our kids (Emeryson and Ilyanna) went up to the playground to play.
It got me thinking about how grateful I am for the opportunity to be able to do that with my kids.
To be able to wake up (that’s a miracle in itself), do something nice for your family, spend some time with your kids and then head to the office to get a full day of work done.
It also got me thinking about routines and how important they are.
Over the years, I’ve tried many different routines. The best one I’ve found so far is one that works for me.
For me that means getting up, having a shower, having my coffee, get some healthy food for me and the kids, then head out to get some fresh air for 15-30 minutes.
For a while all I did was work. Literally. I’d wake up, shower, coffee, and start my work. That wasn’t what I wanted though.
What I wanted was to make time every day to spend it with my kids and to get what was important (but not urgent) completed. Now, I’m finally doing what’s important to me.
Think about how your day is setup:
Have you designed it to work for you?
To give you the life that you want?
Or have you accepted that’s what you’ll do because you don’t think you have any other choices?
No matter what we do in life, we always have a choice. Every day is a choice. A choice to do what you want and work the way you want.
